About us

Hi, we're earth & water living.

We're a small studio of architects, designers, gardeners, and craftspeople, based between Porto and Comporta. We make homes from materials that age well — stone, lime, oak, linen, clay, and water.

We work on anything from a single garden room to a whole farmhouse. And we love combining old craft with modern 3D printing.

From happy clients

What people say about us.

“They listened to the land before they listened to us. The house feels like it has always been there.”

— Margarida & Henrique, Douro Valley

“Calm, considered, and deeply skilled. Every detail — from the threshold stone to the pool edge — was thought about.”

— Inês Costa, Salt Pavilion

“They chose materials we'd never have considered. Two winters in, the house feels warmer than ever.”

How a project happens

From first call to finished home.

  1. 01

    Listen

Share your story, the site, and what you'd like to come home to. Drawings, photos, voice notes — anything that helps us understand.

  2. 02

    Read the site

We visit (or study remotely) — sun path, prevailing winds, water, neighbouring trees, materials nearby. The site sets the brief.

  3. 03

    Propose

A considered proposal: concept direction, materials palette, timeline, and a fee that reflects the scope honestly.

  4. 04

    Build & inhabit

From first sketch to handover, we stay close to the work — on site, beside the makers, until the house is ready to be lived in.

The studio

The people behind the work.

A small team of architects, designers and makers working between Porto and Comporta. From first sketch to handover, you talk to the same hands that shape the house.

Margarida Pinto

Design & interiors lead

Shapes how a home feels to live in — light, materials, the small daily thresholds.

Tomás Reis

Earth printing & structures

Turns drawings into buildable earth, timber and stone. Runs the print rig on site.

Inês Vasconcelos

Landscape & gardens

Reads water, soil and planting so the garden and the house grow up together.
